Start with your Gold’s Gym location and agreement. The official cancellation-request page asks you to select your club and may direct you to a gym-owner-specific link. Use the accepted request method for that location, identify each separate service and obtain the effective end date and final-charge schedule.
Cancel golds gym membership: Before you cancel
- Know your barcode/membership ID — it’s required for the cancellation form, the email, and the call line
- Find your home club — Gold’s handles cancellations per location, not through one national cancel button
- List your add-ons: Kid’s Club, personal training, and other services cancel on the same form and bill separately
- Expect a retention pitch — a “stay” offer is the norm; it’s an offer, not a requirement
Gold’s Gym locations can use different owners and billing systems. The current official request page routes by location; an email address or phone number found for another operator is not a universal cancellation channel.
The three official ways to cancel
Start at the official location selector. Follow the specific link provided for your gym owner. If your club is missing or the form fails, use your home club’s published contact details and ask for its accepted cancellation method.
Step by step: the cancellation-request form
Open goldsgym.com/cancellation-request — the official cancellation page.
- Select your gym location. If the page provides a separate gym-owner link, follow that link and use its instructions.
Fill in the required fields: first name, last name, barcode, email, primary phone, and the reason for cancellation.
- Identify each paid service you want to end, including membership, childcare and training. Ask whether the same request covers each agreement or another request is required.
Submit and save the confirmation — a submitted request is your starting proof; follow up for the written confirmation with an end date.
The email route
Use the cancellation email specified by your club or agreement. Include your membership ID and requested end date, and ask whether the message satisfies the notice requirement. Do not assume a national-looking address processes every franchise account.
The phone route
Call the number on your own club’s official page or agreement for help. Ask whether a call can actually cancel the membership or whether written notice or a portal request is required. Record the representative and reference, then obtain the decision in writing.
Fees, timing, and the annual-fee question
- Notice and fees live in your agreement — Gold’s doesn’t publish one national cancellation fee, so the club’s contract is the authority on notice periods and any early-termination charge
- Kid’s Club and personal training cancel with you — but only if you check them on the form; they’re separate billing lines and can keep drafting if missed
- Annual fees are club-specific; cancel before the fee date on your agreement to avoid the charge
- Don’t stop payments first — unpaid dues on a binding agreement can go to collections; cancel through an official channel, keep proof, then watch the cycle
Special cases and exceptions
- Moved away: ask your home club about transfer options before canceling outright — a transfer to a nearby Gold’s can beat cancel-and-rejoin enrollment fees.
- Medical reasons / military orders: some clubs offer holds or waivers with documentation — request the medical or military freeze/waiver in writing with supporting papers.
- Death of the member: the authorized representative should ask for the applicable estate-cancellation provision, required evidence and treatment of later charges. Do not assume every agreement ends automatically on the date of death.
Reach the operator responsible for your account
Keep the request with the operator responsible for your account. Ask which team has received it and which contract it covers. A club-specific cancellation process is more useful than following a generic national phone extension.
Franchise reality: why two Gold’s Gyms follow different rules
Use the location and membership ID on your agreement to identify the responsible operator. Check that its request process covers your account, and save evidence of receipt.
- Use the location you signed at — transfers between franchises are a membership question, not a cancellation shortcut
- Kid’s Club and personal training bill separately — closing the gym membership doesn’t close those contracts, and vice versa
- Get the cancellation reference number — with franchise desks, “the other location handles it” is the classic runaround; a reference number pins responsibility to one desk
What to check on your final statement
Compare the final statement with the confirmed schedule. Ask for the agreement provision and calculation supporting any annual fee, notice-period dues or separate training and childcare charge. A posting date alone does not establish whether the charge is owed.
Verify that cancellation was completed
Follow the response timeframe stated by your club. If it passes, follow up with the original receipt rather than assuming a universal ten-day rule. Compare the final statement with the confirmed schedule, including separate services.
Cancellation request and follow-up template
Use the accepted channel for your agreement. If your club requires its own form, use this wording to supplement it or follow up. A message to an unapproved address does not establish that the notice requirement was met.
Still charged? Check the final schedule
- Notice cutoff: compare the original submission with the agreement’s renewal date and notice requirement.
- Unfinished request: find the final receipt or acknowledgment, rather than a form download or draft email.
- Separate service: match the charge with the correct contract, member and billing line.
- Remaining obligation: request an itemized explanation of dues, annual fees, credits or an initial-term balance.
For a Gold’s Gym billing issue, match the charge to your club agreement, notice receipt, effective end date and any separate training service. Ask the club’s billing team which item and period remain due and how it calculated the amount. Keep its written adjustment or refund decision; closing the membership and reversing an earlier payment require separate evidence.
Why the location check matters
The Pacific Northwest operator’s published page limits its instructions to six named clubs and directs other members to their home gym. Its workflow uses My iClub Online and sends an email summary. Treat that as an example of regional variation, not the process for every Gold’s Gym.
Frequently asked questions
Can I cancel Gold’s Gym online?
Start with the official location-selecting request page. Your gym owner may provide a separate link. Complete its process and retain the confirmation.
Is there one cancellation phone number for every club?
Do not assume so. Use your location’s published contact and ask which channel satisfies your agreement’s notice requirements.
Does the same request cancel personal training?
Identify training and other services separately. Ask which requests are accepted and obtain a decision for each contract.
How much notice is required?
Read the cancellation clause in your club’s agreement. Regional examples may differ; another member’s thirty-day rule is not proof of yours.
Will I receive a refund?
Ask for the relevant refund provision, unused-time calculation and expected credit date. There is no uniform proration policy established by the national request page.
What if my club is missing from the selector?
Contact your home club through its official details. Ask for its current owner-specific cancellation method and save the response.
