How to Cancel Hulu and Disney+ Bundle Plans

Cancel Hulu with the correct biller. Check bundle and original subscriptions, Live TV trial access, add-ons, pauses and confirmation of final charges.

Quick answer

Hulu-billed subscribers cancel in their account: Account page → Cancel under Your Subscription → Continue to Cancel → Cancel Subscription. The Account page then reads “Your subscription will be canceled” and you get a confirmation email. You keep access through the end of your current billing cycle. Billed through a third party (a provider or the Disney+ app)? Cancel there — Hulu can’t end it.

Hulu splits into three billing worlds, and the right cancel path depends on which one you’re in: Hulu bills you directly (the clean account-page cancel), a Disney+ bundle covers you (the bundle has its own cancel flow and reverts originals), or a third party — an internet/TV provider or an app store — bills on your behalf (only they can end it). This guide covers all three, the pause option, and the “still charged after canceling” causes straight from Hulu’s own help center.

If Hulu bills you: the account-page cancel

  1. Head to your Account page on a computer or mobile browser.

  2. Select “Cancel” under Your Subscription. You may be offered a pause first — select “Continue to Cancel” if you’re not interested.

  3. Select “Cancel Subscription.” Afterward the Account page should read “Your subscription will be canceled”, and a confirmation email goes to the address on file — keep it.

Access continues through the end of your current billing cycle, and you won’t be charged going forward. Free-trial cancelers keep trial access without charge after it ends — except Hulu + Live TV free trials, which end immediately on cancellation.

If you’re on a bundle plan

Bundles add a second logic layer. Hulu’s own guidance on the Disney+/Hulu/ESPN+ bundle:

  • Canceling your original standalone subscription (say, a Hulu-only or ESPN+ that predated the bundle) does not cancel the bundle — the Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ bundle continues uninterrupted. If you’d been receiving a credit toward the bundle for an ESPN+ sub, that credit ends when the original sub cancels.
  • Canceling the bundle itself reverts your prior standalone subscriptions to their then-current price and terms — unless you also cancel those separately. Your access to the bundle changes per the bundle’s cancel flow.
  • Disney+-billed bundle: manage it with Disney+. App use alone does not establish whether Disney, a store or another seller collects payment.

Third-party billed: cancel with the biller

If you signed up through an internet or TV provider (or an app store), Hulu’s help directs you to cancel through that third party — Hulu can’t end a subscription it doesn’t bill. Check your statement for who the biller actually is:

Provider-billed
TV/internet provider billed Hulu as part of your package — cancel on the provider’s account, not Hulu’s.
Apple / Google billed
Bought in an app store → cancel in iPhone Settings → Subscriptions or Google Play → Subscriptions.

Still being charged after canceling?

  • The charge predates cancellation — you’re billed for the cycle you’re in; check the date on the statement line before assuming a failed cancel
  • A bundle or original sub kept running — per the bundle rules above, canceling one piece doesn’t stop the rest; check every subscription tied to the account
  • Third-party billing survived — if a provider or app store bills Hulu, the account-page cancel doesn’t reach that biller
  • Check completed status and the end-date record. If confirmation is missing, contact the actual biller and ask what remains rather than assuming the result from a single phrase.

Pause is an option

Hulu-billed subscribers may have a pause option for up to twelve weeks. Check eligibility, start and restart dates and any remaining add-ons on the account. A temporary pause is different from stopping renewal permanently.

If you want to leave, continue past the pause offer and finish cancellation. Save the resulting status and email. An offer viewed or a pause accepted is not proof that the subscription was canceled.

Special cases and exceptions

  • Death of the account holder: canceling ends billing to the estate card; unused balance and refunds follow Hulu’s terms. The executor’s cancellation checklist covers the document kit and the watch-for-renewals step.
  • Moving: Hulu follows the account, not an address — no relocation step is needed; just cancel from wherever you are.
  • Student or premium plan: the same account-page cancel applies; confirm whether add-on limitations change what you’re actually ending.

The bundle break-up math

Identify the package by its exact name and billing owner before changing it. A bundle is not automatically a set of individually cancelable components. Review the plan-change or cancellation screen for what remains and its new price.

Hulu’s cancellation help warns that certain original standalone subscriptions can continue after a bundle ends. Record the original Hulu, ESPN or third-party subscription and its biller separately. Do not assume ending the bundle deleted every older billing agreement.

A Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max bundle purchased through HBO Max is managed through HBO Max; one purchased through Disney+ uses Disney+. Check the seller on the receipt rather than using the app you happen to watch.

Timing: the billing-cycle end

For Hulu-billed paid plans, access normally continues to the confirmed billing-cycle end. Its ordinary free trial also retains access after cancellation, while a Hulu + Live TV free trial ends immediately. Check the exact trial type and date before relying on either outcome.

Record the request time and the end date separately. A statement posting later can reflect an earlier authorized payment; compare the receipt and covered period before claiming another renewal occurred.

Your account survives the cancellation

Canceling Hulu ends the subscription, not the account. Profiles, watch history, and your My Stuff list stay attached to the email address — which is why resubscribing later feels like nothing changed. That persistence cuts both ways: convenient if you come back, a liability if you’re canceling over a shared-account dispute or a privacy concern. Closing the account entirely is a separate deletion step in your account settings, and it’s permanent — profiles, history, and the viewing record go with it. Cancel first, decide about deletion later; the two problems deserve two decisions.

Check Payment Information and every older subscription

Hulu identifies the billing party in the Account page’s Payment Information section. Save that detail with your receipt before cancellation. The Disney account used for sign-in does not by itself establish that Disney collects the payment.

List a bundle, its original standalone subscriptions, premium add-ons and other household accounts separately. Mark each as continuing or ending and save the displayed price and date. If the account screens conflict, ask the seller to reconcile the specific records before opening a replacement subscription.

If you only want to remove a premium add-on, use the plan/add-on controls and verify the base Hulu plan remains at the intended price. If you want everything ended, ask the seller which add-ons the cancellation includes and which separately billed subscriptions survive.

Keep a short cancellation record

For Hulu, save the current seller, base plan, add-ons and any Disney bundle relationship before you confirm cancellation. Record the final access date and whether an earlier separate subscription still appears elsewhere. Keep each seller’s receipt and result together rather than relying on a single screenshot of the Hulu app.

For a Hulu-related payment after cancellation, identify whether the receipt belongs to Hulu, a bundle seller or a separate original subscription. Compare that product with the item you ended and any pause you accepted. Ask the seller that collected the charge to explain its covered period and issue a separate decision on any refund request.

If a Hulu subscriber has died, ask the actual billing seller about its authorized-representative route. List the Hulu plan, bundle and any separate subscriptions so the request names the right items. Track each seller’s response in the estate cancellation checklist; household viewing access alone does not establish authority.

Cancellation and billing follow-up template

Complete the cancellation in the correct account first. Copy this wording into the official support channel for missing confirmation or a disputed charge; sending a letter alone does not replace the account flow. Keep the case reference, and omit passwords, security codes and full payment-card details.

Cancel Hulu subscription: frequently asked questions

Where can I identify the biller?

Look at Payment Information on the Hulu Account page and compare it with the receipt. A Disney sign-in is not proof Disney bills the plan.

Does canceling a bundle end older subscriptions?

Not necessarily. Hulu warns certain original standalone or third-party subscriptions can continue. Review each original record and its biller.

Can I remove only one bundle component?

Use the exact package’s available plan changes. Do not assume each component can be canceled separately or that the package reprices automatically.

What happens to a Hulu + Live TV trial?

Hulu’s cancellation help says it ends immediately on cancellation; ordinary Hulu trials retain access. Verify which trial you have.

Who cancels an HBO Max-billed bundle?

Manage that package through HBO Max, as Hulu’s cancellation help directs. A Hulu-only account change does not prove the bundle ended.

Is pause permanent cancellation?

No. Check the restart date and remaining add-ons. Continue to the final cancellation if you want renewal stopped.

Does cancellation delete my Disney account?

No. Subscription cancellation and account deletion are separate. Preserve receipts and consider other linked services before requesting deletion.

What if another charge appears?

Match the receipt, account, billing period and original standalone subscription. Ask the responsible seller for an itemized review with the cancellation record.
