To stop recurring Stitch Fix boxes, open Fix frequency → Manage Fix frequency → Proceed to cancel → Confirm cancel. That switches you to on-demand ordering. Separately cancel any upcoming Fix that is already scheduled, and check styling-fee refunds and return deadlines for boxes that already shipped.
Before you cancel Stitch Fix
- Automatic deliveries and upcoming Fixes are different jobs — stop the schedule, then cancel any Fix already in progress
- Deleting the app does nothing — change Fix frequency in the signed-in account
- Styling fees may refund when you cancel an upcoming Fix before styling starts; once work begins, self-serve cancel may disappear
- A shipped box needs the return process, not another cancel click
- Save proof — screenshot the final frequency setting and every cancel confirmation
Stitch Fix cancellations fail when people stop the schedule and assume an already-styled or shipped Fix is gone too. Treat automatic deliveries, upcoming Fixes, and returns as three separate paths.
Cancel Stitch Fix: what you are stopping
Stop automatic Fix deliveries
Sign in and select the correct profile if you manage more than one.
Open Fix frequency from your profile icon, then choose Manage Fix frequency.
Select Proceed to cancel, then Confirm cancel. Stitch Fix’s own help lists these clicks for stopping automatic deliveries.
Check the resulting frequency setting and save a screenshot. You should now be on on-demand ordering, not a deleted account.
Cancel an upcoming Fix separately
Open Fix, select Edit beside the estimated delivery date, choose Cancel your Fix, then confirm. Self-service cancellation is available before the stylist starts work. If the option has disappeared, contact support promptly.
Stitch Fix says a styling fee already charged is refunded to the original payment method when the Fix is successfully cancelled. See its upcoming-delivery cancellation policy. A support enquiry is not confirmation that cancellation succeeded — wait for status in the account.
If the box has shipped or arrived
For a delivered stylist-curated Fix, the published policy gives three days to decide what to keep and send the rest back. If you need more time, request a try-on extension from the homepage or Fix Checkout page. Save the new deadline if approved.
A previously purchased Fix item and a Freestyle item have a different return clock: thirty days from purchase. Returned items must be unworn, unwashed, in original condition and tagged; footwear and jewelry also need their original branded packaging. Verify the exact order and purchase date.
Complete the required checkout and keep the return receipt and tracking until the order and refund records agree. Do not refuse a package or leave it unopened as a substitute for return instructions. Stopping future deliveries does not erase an existing merchandise balance.
What happens after you cancel automatic deliveries
- Account stays — you can still order on demand
- Upcoming Fixes still need their own cancel if scheduled
- Styling-fee refunds follow Stitch Fix’s cancel timing rules, not the frequency change alone
- Returns for shipped boxes stay on that order’s timeline
Still being charged after canceling?
- Upcoming Fix not cancelled — frequency change left a Fix already in the pipeline
- Styling fee for a Fix you thought was cancelled — cancel option was gone after styling started; contact support with the order reference
- Merchandise / Freestyle / other profile — a different order or household profile still has a balance
- Return not processed — a shipped box still shows as open until return tracking clears
- Wrong profile — you cancelled on one family profile while another still receives Fixes
Special cases
- Pause vs cancel: a pause only helps if you know when deliveries restart; permanent stop uses the Fix frequency cancel path
- Family / managed profiles: cancel on the profile that receives the boxes
- Death of the account holder: stop billing and open orders, then follow the executor cancel checklist
- Unfamiliar charge: record amount, date, and order reference before contacting support; say whether you need an order cancel, a return, or a refund
Keep a short cancellation record
- The profile and account email you changed
- A screenshot of the final delivery-frequency setting
- The status of every upcoming Fix
- Any support confirmation, return receipt, and promised refund
Check that a promised refund reaches the original payment method. If it does not, follow up with the order reference and confirmation rather than starting a second cancellation flow.
Track one profile and three deadlines
Start with the profile that receives the Fix. Write down the scheduled delivery, current styling status and any existing checkout or return deadline. Stopping automatic deliveries changes the future schedule; it does not erase a box already in progress.
After the frequency change, check whether an upcoming Fix remains. If its self-service cancellation is missing, ask support promptly to review that specific Fix. Keep the answer and order status; a support message sent while styling continues is not a canceled-order receipt.
For a delivered box, use the try-on deadline. For an item already purchased, use its purchase-based return deadline instead. Example: a Fix delivery date and the later date you purchased a kept item can produce two different clocks; use the record matching what you are returning.
Check what the refund actually covers
Separate the styling fee from merchandise, a Freestyle purchase and any credit. Match each promised refund with its original transaction and payment method. An order closure does not establish that every charge on the account was reversed.
Ask support to identify the approved amount and expected posting date if a credit is missing. Keep a copy of any return scan showing when the parcel entered the carrier network and monitor the order record for receipt. If tracking shows delivery but the balance remains, provide both dates in one follow-up.
Other profiles, estate requests and account deletion
Review each managed profile separately. Ask which profiles should stop automatic deliveries and which upcoming Fixes need their own request. Keep a short table in your notes with profile, Fix number, status and deadline so a confirmation for one does not hide another active order.
An authorized estate representative should ask support about the evidence and process for stopping deliveries, handling open boxes and settling refunds. If you also want account deletion, treat that as a separate privacy request after downloading necessary receipts. Deleting the app or losing access is not proof that order obligations ended.
Cancellation and billing follow-up template
Complete the cancellation in the correct account first. Copy this wording into the official support channel for missing confirmation or a disputed charge; sending a letter alone does not replace the account flow. Keep the case reference, and omit passwords, security codes and full payment-card details.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does stopping automatic deliveries cancel my upcoming Fix?
Check it separately. Stop the frequency, then use the upcoming Fix’s cancellation control before styling starts.
Why has Cancel your Fix disappeared?
Self-service cancellation is available before styling starts. Ask support promptly to review the specific order and keep the resulting status.
Will a charged styling fee be returned?
The upcoming-Fix help says it is refunded to the original payment method once that Fix is successfully canceled. The frequency change alone is not that confirmation.
How long is the Fix try-on window?
The published policy gives three days after delivery, with extension requests available from the homepage or checkout page. Save an approved extension.
Is Freestyle subject to the same three-day window?
No. Freestyle and previously purchased Fix items use thirty days from purchase under the return policy.
What condition must returns be in?
Unworn, unwashed, original condition and tagged. Footwear and jewelry also require their original branded packaging.
Does deleting the account clear an open box balance?
Do not assume so. Resolve order, checkout and return records and preserve receipts; account deletion is a separate request.
Why might I still be charged?
Check an uncanceled upcoming Fix, another profile, merchandise or Freestyle purchases, and a return or refund that has not been processed.
